This Benelux Code of Practice is the updated version of “Powder and wet paint on zinc,” issued in 2013. OnderhoudNL, Vereniging ION, VOM and Zinkinfo Benelux, together with their supporters, worked intensely together on this publication, making this document industry-wide.

Purpose of this publication

The purpose of this practice guideline is twofold:

On the one hand, we want to inform all actors in construction about the possibilities regarding powder and wet coating on galvanized substrates. This code of practice indicates what they should consider in design, system selection and commissioning. The actors in construction are all those involved in the design, actual construction, maintenance and renovation of steel structures (clients, architects, study firms, consulting firms, inspection authorities, project developers, end users, etc.).
On the other hand, surface finishers who use these requirements respect the process and assessment described in this document.

This document creates clarity for all parties in their expectations of the quality delivered and pools all knowledge to deliver a sustainable and quality end product.
