2 p.m.: First team building activity: visit to wine estate of Genoels-Elderen
Between Tongeren and Maastricht, along the old Roman roads, in the municipality of Riemst, lies the only wine castle in Belgium. This is no coincidence, as the Romans had vineyards in this area some 2,000 years earlier.
With its 25 acres of vineyards, the Wine Castle of Genoels-Elderen is the largest wine estate in the country and welcomes some 15,000 visitors each year. Guides lead you around the park, vineyards, a rose garden, distillery, press house and cellars that date from the 13th to the 20th century.
You take a walk through the park, around the castle with a beautiful arboretum, the rose garden and the largest vineyards in Belgium. You visit the old carriage house with the most modern grape press, the distillery and the antique and modern wine cellars.To finish, you taste our wines in the winery. During your walk you will learn about the past, present and future of the domain, the restoration projects, the special 300 year old trees, the working process in the vineyards and about the whole vinification from grape to wine in your glass.

16:30: Second team building activity: choice of tour to Alden Biesen castle or casino

During the tour, you will explore the history and evolution of AldenBiesen over eight centuries. Particular attention will be paid to the gardens and surrounding parkland that surround the castle. You will discover the restored French gardens with arbors, mazes, flower beds and the iconic “AldenBiesen” rose. In addition to the tours, the venue offers several options to enrich your visit. You can enjoy lunch on site and even opt for combined tours that take you to explore the Hesbaye region, past AldenBiesen’s historic properties and landmarks such as the city of Tongeren and the county’s former capital, Borgloon.
