ZEKER ZINK Handbook

ADDITIONAL SERVICES

  1. Reporting layer thickness measurements
  2. Specific layer thicknesses
  3. Additional logistics services such as storage, transport on demand, transport by covered truck, car with crane for unloading on site, etc.)
  4. Other (do not hesitate to consult your galvanizer)

Notes:

If aesthetic appearance is chosen:

  1. Then they will have to think about composition already on the drawing board.
  2. Of paramount importance is to design the object to allow proper and safe galvanization that meets expectations.
  3. The zinc must be able to easily form a coating everywhere during immersion, and pretreatment fluids must be able to flow in and out.
  4. Zinc ash and flux residue formed in the zinc bath must be able to escape easily from the surface or from the object. Include sufficiently large countersink holes in your design for this purpose.
  5. Also bear in mind that objects in your workshop are cleaned of sharp edges but also that thermally cut edges are reworked by grinding them.
  6. Steel with a uniform surface provides a nicer zinc coating. This can be achieved by preblasting the steel or by purchasing already blasted steel from the steel supplier.

In short, the biggest difference between a functional and an aesthetic appearance is made by the design, the steel surface, the chemical steel composition and, above all, a proactive dialogue with your galvanizer.
